Hi Jeff G., for a start, thanks for your fixes to my syntax in the deletion request, and for your volunteering work of following and dealing with the copyrights of the images posted on Commons, a task that may get pretty tedious. It has been long since I last posted a deletion request, so sorry for my awkwardness in syntax, honestly I thought it would be more straightforward.

Now, I come here for a warning you posted on my talk page, which left me wondering what this is about. "You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions". What is this copyright warning out of the blue? What copyright breach? What images? I just requested a deletion for a map that provides incorrect information. That is also a commitment to guarantee readers receive accurate information. Sorry, it looks to me you misplaced the post. Regards Iñaki LL (talk) 23:09, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Iñaki LL: You have seven warnings on your user talk page for uploading unfree files, plus notifications about DRs for files that have been deleted. Today was the first day I visited that page. However, given the ages of those templates, please take that as an initial warning instead.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 00:08, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I came here to nominate for deletion a blatantly incorrect file, and I come out with an out-of-the-blue copyright warning not related to anything happening now, but years ago. The warnings were made back then by bots, usually due to a malformed copyright tag or due to an error when uploading with pattypan or openrefine, and fixed in hours by me. As far as I know, the image for deletion appearing on my user page belongs in the talk page of the uploader, not me, who is trying to delete it, or at least, to fix it. I am not the uploader.
So thanks for all the information on my faulty deletion request, but your copyright warning is just out of place, since it is not related to any copyright issues happening at the moment, and a warning is uncalled for. Iñaki LL (talk) 11:43, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Iñaki LL: Have you read {{Fcs}}?   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 14:26, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I read it, but sorry, I am still at a loss, what are you getting at exactly? Is that a catch-all statement? What does this have to do with my attempt to remove a file containing incorrect information? I have uploaded my best almost 4,000 files to Wikimedia Commons. Why has this Idw based tag] been posted on my talk page? Sorry you got it wrong there and I think the copyright thing is a confusion. Iñaki LL (talk) 22:32, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Iñaki LL: {{Fcs}} is a catch-all for violations of the COM:EVID and COM:L policies. I imported it here from enwiki to use as a first warning, and then to cut through red tape I applied "Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing." to {{File source/en}}, which was already transcluded to your user talk page. You neglected to create subpage Commons:Deletion requests/File:Elecciones al Parlamento Europeo de 2024 (España).svg, so I created it for you and notified you of that with that idw based tag.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 11:26, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The idw based tag is usually posted on the uploader's talk page, not the case here, but I grant you were acting on good faith to fix the malformed syntax. Exactly, it is a catch-all, it is not related to anything on copyright happening at the moment, at this point, which leaves me wondering. It seems to insinuate that I have been doing something wrong, without the opportunity to improve or learn from it, which I would love. The links provided are fine, I am overall familiar with them, but do not know why they are relevant here.
Your warning just does not belong in my talk page, please remove it. Sometimes (see my talk page) a bot was quicker than me and posted a tag in my talk page, before I could fix things myself, I was on it. That was also happening when I reached out to Pi.1415926535 and you came over to my talk page.
I have uploaded loads of graphic information, including maps and photographic pictures, translated commons didactic guidebooks, written an article in Basque on guidelines about how to effectively fill out name, description and categories, and encourage people to upload their pictures.
At times I went through issues on uploads, there will always be issues when uploading images to Wikimedia Commons, that can happen to anyone, no matter how veteran one is, I am not a professional, this is my spare time. When issues arose, I acted proactively to repair them. When I saw incorrect information showing on a map, I hurried to correct it, firstly, rightly or wrong, by requesting to delete the map. Iñaki LL (talk) 22:52, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Iñaki LL: I removed it for you.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 14:14, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notification about possible deletion

[edit]
Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

thank you Smnt (talk) 21:38, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Smnt: The problem with that is your modification of the summary header and your removal of the license section. Per Special:AbuseFilter/313, Admin GPSLeo doesn't want you (and other new users and anonymous users) to do that. I hope you will learn to stop doing that.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 02:11, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So what is the solution? Can you fix it? Smnt (talk) 03:38, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t even know how to do that. As you are more experienced and expert in editing I ask you to please fix it and edit as I intended the way you see up here. Thank you. Smnt (talk) 19:44, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
